Oral fluid has many advantages over urine in drug testing
Using oral fluid for drug testing is quickly becoming the preferred method for employers over taking urine samples because the sample is easy to collect, the process is observable and difficult to adulterate (no time alone in a bathroom), and oral fluid is highly effective at showing recent drug intake.
By eliminating the need to send employees to collection sites for urine samples, it is also very cost-effective and minimizes employee downtime.
Recent major improvements in oral fluid testing technology have resulted in better collection devices, excellent drug recovery with instant tests using collection pads, and high drug stability during transportation and storage of oral fluid samples in lab-based testing.
Instant products using the latest types of pads to collect oral fluid test effectively for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates and PCP. Lab-based tests that evaluate remotely collected neat oral fluid samples have been shown effective across 20 drug classes incorporating more than 50 analytes plus alcohol, according to the National Roadside Survey (NRS) by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2007.
Wolfe is among the first in the industry to offer a neat oral fluid specimen collector and reagent process with automated screening equipment in our lab. We also offer highly advanced instant saliva drug tests. To learn more, call us at 1-800-230-2991.
